Urgent: It’s Illegal to Swim in the Collection Ditch Next to the Bonneville Salt Flats

The land-speed racing community is committed to the restoration of the Bonneville Salt Flats and urges tourists to not swim, float, kayak or otherwise recreate in the industrial canal to the east of the Bonneville Salt Flats. The canal is privately leased and serves as a salt brine collection ditch.  It is illegal to park a car at the ditch to swim or boat and Utah Highway Patrol will be issuing tickets to violators.
